General

What is InheriBit?

InheriBit helps you store important digital information like passwords, accounts, and documents in one place, and ensures your family can access it in a controlled way during emergencies.

It is not just storage. It defines how access should happen when you are not available.

What kind of information can I store?

Anything your family may need if you cannot explain it yourself.

Examples:

  • Account logins
  • Bank and investment details
  • Important documents
  • Notes or instructions

Who is this for?

Anyone who manages important information that others may need in an emergency.

This can be individuals, couples, or families.

Privacy & Security

Can InheriBit read my data?

No.

Your data is encrypted on your device before it is sent anywhere. We do not have access to readable data.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored in encrypted form.

Even when stored or backed up, it remains encrypted and cannot be read without going through the full access process.

What if someone hacks InheriBit?

They still cannot read your data.

What is stored is encrypted. Without your keys, the household password, and a successful verification process, it is useless.

Do you have a backdoor to access my data?

No.

We cannot open your data. The system is designed so that even we do not have access to readable information.

Household & Access

What is a household?

A household is the group of people you trust.

You can add family members or others. Each person has their own identity and access.

Nothing is shared with them unless your rules allow it.

Can everyone in my household see everything?

No.

Nothing is visible by default.

Access only happens after a request and approval process.

What is a household password?

It is a password you set that is required to unlock any shared data.

Even after access is granted, data cannot be read without this password.

Can I change who has access later?

Yes.

You can update your household and policies at any time.

Emergency Access

What happens when someone requests access?

A request is created and you are notified.

You can approve or deny it if you are available.

What if I am alive but just not checking the app?

This is handled in two ways.

First, you are notified multiple times.

You will get repeated alerts on email and inside the app, not just a single notification.

Second, you can pause access requests.

If you know you will be unavailable for some time, you can temporarily disable or pause requests. During that period, no request will move forward.

This prevents accidental access just because you were offline.

What if I am travelling or going out of network for a few days?

You can pause access requests.

While paused:

  • No new requests will proceed
  • Existing requests will not move forward

Once you are back, you can resume normal behavior.

This ensures the system does not assume something is wrong just because you are offline.

What if someone raises a request and I miss the notification?

You are not notified just once.

The system sends multiple alerts over time through:

  • email
  • in-app notifications

The goal is to give you enough chances to respond before anything progresses.

Only after the defined waiting period, and no response, does the system move forward.

What if I do not respond?

After the waiting time you defined:

  • The request moves forward based on your policy
  • Additional checks and verification steps are applied
  • InheriBit reviews the request before allowing access

Access is not granted just because time passed.

What if I am alive but unable to respond?

If you do not respond even after multiple notifications:

  • The system waits for the full duration you defined
  • Then moves forward carefully
  • Verification steps are applied before anything is released

This avoids blocking your family while still protecting your data.

What if someone lies and claims there is an emergency?

A request alone does not unlock anything.

Even if you do not respond:

  • The system does not immediately grant access
  • The request goes through verification
  • Additional checks are applied

And even after that:

  • data is still encrypted
  • household password is still required

There is no single step where everything becomes exposed.

Can someone get access without my permission?

Not directly.

They must:

  • Be allowed to request access
  • Follow your defined rules
  • Pass the verification process

Even after that, the data is still locked and requires the household password.

What if someone tries to misuse the system?

They cannot directly access your data.

Even if someone:

  • has the backup file
  • and knows the household password

they still cannot unlock anything immediately.

They must first pass the verification process.

Without that, the data remains locked.

What if someone knows the household password?

The password alone is not enough.

They still need:

  • a valid request
  • successful verification

And access must follow your defined policy.

Without completing the full process, the password cannot unlock anything.

Backup

What is a backup?

A backup is an encrypted copy of your data that can be used during emergencies.

Is the backup enough to access my data?

No.

A backup file alone is not useful.

Even with:

  • the backup file
  • and the household password

access is still blocked until the verification process is completed.

What if someone gets both the backup file and the password?

Even then, they cannot access your data directly.

They still must:

  • go through the request flow
  • pass verification

Without that, the backup remains locked.

This is intentional so that no single leak can expose your data.

Why is verification required even with the password?

Because passwords can be shared, guessed, or misused.

Verification ensures that:

  • the request is legitimate
  • the situation matches an actual emergency
  • access follows your intent

Only after this step is completed can the data be unlocked.

Who performs the verification?

InheriBit handles the verification process based on your request and system checks. This may include reviewing request details and signals before allowing access.

Can I download my backup?

Yes.

You can export your encrypted backup file.

However, using it still requires:

  • going through the access process
  • successful verification
  • and the household password

Control & Rules

Can I control how access works?

Yes.

You define:

  • Who can request access
  • What approvals are needed
  • How long the system should wait

Can I stop a request?

Yes, if you are available.

You can deny requests when notified.

What happens after access is granted?

The encrypted data is released.

It can only be unlocked:

  • after verification
  • and with the household password

Limitations

What happens if the household password is lost?

The data cannot be unlocked without it.

This is intentional to ensure security.

What if I never set up rules properly?

Access will follow whatever rules are defined.

It is important to review your setup to ensure it matches your intent.

Does InheriBit replace legal processes?

No.

It helps your family access information. It does not replace legal ownership or legal procedures.

Beta

Is this product fully launched?

No.

It is currently in beta and being tested with early users.

Why is access limited?

Because this product handles sensitive situations.

We are onboarding users carefully to ensure everything works correctly.

How can I join?

You can join the waitlist from the website. We invite users in batches. Join the waitlist.
